Egyptian Dispatches

This blog documents my two visits to Egypt in early 2013. The first in January was to spend time with my wife, Arda Ishkhanian, who was in Heliopolis, Cairo settling the affairs of her recently deceased parents. The second trip in February was undertaken under very different circumstances. This work was unfinished at the time of her death. She had just started experimenting with using the local palm tree bark as a sculptural medium.
